Junior Great Books

Junior Great Books

Junior Great Book is an inquiry-based program that refines and extends students' skills in reading, thinking and communicating.  Students will be exposed to vocabulary-rich, multi-cultural folktales that invite a number of interpretations.  Through weekly discussions, students develop their skills by asking questions, formulating and sharing their opinions and supporting their ideas with evidence from the selections they have read.

Don't forget to bring a healthy snack for Junior Great Books discussions!

Students may also bring a water bottle to class.

Students are required to read the weekly stories in order to participate in the discussions.  If the story is not read, they will be asked to return to their general education classrooms at that time.  We do not want to see valuable class time put to waste. J
